If your plan includes out-of-network benefits and we are not in-network with your plan, our office staff can assist you in understanding your financial responsibility. Out of Network

While Dr. Hamid Mir may not be in-network with all insurance providers, this doesn’t mean you’re without options for having your procedure covered. In fact, many of our patients are pleasantly surprised by the level of coverage available for their spine surgery with Dr. Mir. It’s important to know that out-of-network doesn’t equate to lack of insurance coverage for our services. Instead, it simply means that the coverage is not provided at the insurance company’s contracted rate. We strongly encourage you to connect with our knowledgeable Patient Engagement Team to discuss your specific insurance plan and coverage details.

Billing and Statements

Understanding how Dr. Hamid Mir collaborates with your insurance plan is essential in preparing for the medical billing process. Our team initiates communication with your insurance provider well before your procedure to verify your plan’s benefits and determine any upfront costs or prepayments required for surgery. Following your surgery, our dedicated billing team will handle the submission of your claims directly to your insurance company. This process includes claims for the surgery itself, as well as any diagnostic tests, imaging, and laboratory work you may have received. Your insurance provider will then review and apply their allowable rates to calculate your copay, deductible, and/or coinsurance, which together comprise your “Patient Responsibility.”

Dr Hamid Mir is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon, back, spine, & neck specialist with fellowship training in combined neurosurgery and orthopedic spine surgery with over 20 years of experience. Dr Mir specializes in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, focusing on non-fusion technologies with Cervical and Lumbar Artificial Disc Replacement and non-stabilizing lumbar laminectomy using neurosurgical techniques to avoid fusions. When spinal fusion is necessary, meticulous orthopedic fusion techniques are utilized to obtain a speedy fusion to lessen the risk of complications. His main office is in Orange County with satellite offices in Los Angeles and Riverside County.

Dr. Mir saw me about 2 months before the spine procedure and indicated that I had severe stenosis or narrowing of the openings where the nerve roots exit at the L4, L5 and S1 level. He reviewed my MRI and without wasting any time, asked if I wanted or was considering spinal surgery. He was extremely clear and answered all my questions. I had the procedure done at the Disc Newport OP surgery spine center and was cared for by an incredibly competent, caring staff. I was discharged same day and my post op recovery was 2 weeks, and returned to daily activities and work July 15th. The procedure was very successful as my back pain is basically gone.
